St Edmund’s College students represent Australia in Tahiti cook-off

International Secondary Schools Culinary Competition

Two students from St Edmund’s College in Canberra have returned to school after representing Australia in the 2009 International Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge (ISSCC) in Tahiti.  After winning the ACT and the national competition, the Year 10 students, Brett Waslin and Joshua Brown, spent the last month preparing their recipe for success.

In July, the St Edmund’s College students competed against 46 other Canberra students in the ACT Secondary Schools Culinary Competition. Each year the ACT Chapter of the Australian Culinary Federation (ACF) partner with the Student to Industry Program (SIP) to facilitate this major cook-off. This competition is it its 4 th year, giving students a realistic insight into the hospitality industry. It also aims to identify and encourage students who demonstrate a talent and a passion for cooking.
