PACIFIC RIM MEETING MINUTES

Glenn read out the May regional newsletter – Mohammed and Grant to receive a copy. Instructions provided on how to access the Pacific Rim website – Mohammed and Grant advised to send Pacific Rim correspondence to Paul Moore, the ACF Webmaster.
Glenn to send to Grant a copy of the letter he wrote to Steve Barton requesting advise regards the Gary Miller appointment.
Australia to provide a judge’s seminar to Fiji including a demonstration Chef, competition prizes are to be negotiated with Fiji.
Gordon Edwards needs dates and what Australia requires re: 2006 Congress. Grant proposed to promote the 2006 as a Pacific Congress and asked where Australia sees its involvement?
Glenn advised that Australia plans to seek a Congress Director to drum up Australian support for the New Zealand 2006 Congress.
Glenn provided an explanation of the Food Costing / Recipe Management CD and is to send a copy of the CD to Fiji for Mohammed to demonstrate.
Mohammed conveyed to all present the best wishes from the President of the Fiji Chefs Association. Fiji requests the following assistance from the ACF:
· How to motivate members to join the Fiji Chefs Association · How and what to organise for Social Events · Additional categories for Salon Culinaire · How to obtain sponsors for equipment in live competitions · A person to conduct training on Baking / Confectionary of which the Fijian Chefs Association will cover the cost of airfares, accommodation and meals for the Trainer · The long term plan of a Fiji representative as a WACS regional board member
Mohammed announced that Fiji plans to send delegates to the 2006 World Congress.
