The Australian Culinary Federation - Victoria (ACFV) and I welcome you to our website.

We are an association that binds all professionals together, and represent Chefs, Cooks, Apprentices and Trainees.

Our aim is to facilitate social and professional contact between members, as well as provide training and development opportunities. We are dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisine as well as continue professional development through culinary competitions.

Auatralian Culinary Challenge.2010

With the Australian Culinary Challenge Victoria at Fine Foods nearly here, ACFV are looking for members who are able to volunteer during the event. The Culinary Challenge runs from Monday 13 Sep to Thursday 16 Sep and we would love to have some extra pairs of hands to help us out in the Chefs Corner with membership enquiries and merchandise sales. So if you can spare a few hours or even a day (or two!), let us know - we'd love to see you there!

Countdown to the Australian Culinary Challenge Victoria
Only four weeks to go until the Australian Culinary Federation Victoria (ACFV) and our major sponsors,
Fonterra Foodservices, Meat & Livestock Australia, Bidvest Australia, Crown Melbourne and Moffat Australia
will be presenting the ‘Australian Culinary Challenge Victoria’ in conjunction with Fine Food and Hotel
Australia at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 13th - 16th September 2010.

Chef of the year

rcv-ex-awards-rgbOn Monday, 2 August 2010, the ACFV awarded Nicolas Poelaert from Embrasse Restaurant in Carlton with the Restaurant and Catering Victoria, Awards for Excellence, for 'Chef of the Year'.

This was the first year this award had been presented. Nicolas was chosen by a board of panelists from nominated restaurants in any category of awards who have produced high level results over the past 12 months.

The award was presented by ACFV President, Steve McFarlane in front of around 500 industry professionals at the Palladium at Crown.
