The Australian Culinary Federation continues to closely monitor the developments of COVID-19. The safety, wellbeing & health of our members, families, friends and community is always our top priority and we are practising social distancing methods. We are being guided by the recommendations the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has provided to the national cabinet.
 
Transmission of COVID-19 is through contact with respiratory droplets containing the virus, produced when an infectious individual coughs or sneezes. As a consequence, individual behaviour is key to containing spread of the virus, and involves taking personal responsibility for measures, such as regular hygiene practices, early self-isolation and personal social distancing.
 
A national campaign has launched to inform all Australians about the coronavirus (COVID-19). The campaign aims to reduce the risk to individuals and families by enabling them to make informed decisions and to take up health recommendations.
 
 
At the moment everybody is unsure of what the future looks like & the measures being taken are changing on a daily even hourly basis. All ACF face to face events are being postponed at this time across the Nation. We as the Board, have an electronic board meeting scheduled on 28th March and decisions pertaining to competitions & events that have been scheduled later in the year will be discussed & they will be guided by Government Policies at the time. We will keep members informed at all stages of how we will be proceeding.
 
Our thoughts are with all those who are directly affected by this virus. We are also very aware of the financial impact the situation will have on the businesses and livelihoods of our members, community and industries. Now more than ever we must be mindful of others and practise kindness and compassion so that we get through these challenging times together. This is a very stressful time for the people of the world, we must all support our local businesses, farmers, friends & colleagues through this crisis. I would like to assure our members that I, the ACF Committees & board are all available to discuss any concerns you may have or if you just want to talk.

We will keep you informed on our thoughts and plans as this situation unfolds. Your Committees will continue to work on strategies and we will keep members informed of any updates.
