SUMMARY:VIC Event: Grow Festival of Regenerative Food & Farming
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nWhen is GROW Festival of Regenerative Food & Farming?\nSaturday\, February 22\, 2025. Gates open at 8am to give you time to enjoy a coffee or breakfast\, meet up with friends or plan your day before programmed sessions start around 9am. The festivities run all day and into the early evening. We’ll publish the up-to-date program with more exact timings a couple of weeks out. \nWhere is GROW?\nAll the day’s activities will be at (and adjacent to) the beautiful Kyneton Racecourse at 44 Campaspe Place in Kyneton\, Victoria\, Australia. It’s a green\, shady\, roomy venue in Kyneton\, a historic rural town an hour by freeway from Melbourne (Tullamarine) airport\, an hour from Bendigo and just over an hour by car or train from Melbourne CBD. \nHow much are tickets and what do they include?\nTickets are $100 for anyone 16 and over and include entry to all speaker sessions\, safaris (demonstrations)\, exhibitor workshops and panel discussions all day. Your ticket also includes parking and a $3 donation to our local CFA brigade for managing parking. \nWhat are you doing to minimise landfill from the day?\nWe’re pleased to offer reusable dishes and cups washed by Wash Against Waste\, a service for hire and staffed by volunteers from Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group and Mt Alexander Sustainability Group. Any single-use food and drink containers\, your entry wristbands and any printed material will be compostable or recyclable. We won’t be selling bottled water at GROW but Coliban Water will provide a free drinking-water station. Please bring your own cup or mug and a refillable water bottle. \nWhen will you publish the program?\nWe know a lot about the program already but we’re still fine-tuning who will speak when and on which stage. Once you have your ticket\, check the website as we update details. We’ll be announcing speakers progressively between now and late January and we’ll publish an almost-final program a couple of weeks out. \nIs the venue suitable if I’m differently abled?\nWe have accessible parking and toilets\, a lift if we’re using an upper level and the venue is relatively flat but if you’re unsure\, please send us an email via the contact form and we will do our best to answer specific questions. \nCan I bring my children to GROW?\nThis an agricultural learning day designed for adults and is not designed specifically for children. You are very welcome to bring children – especially if they’re really into agriculture – and there is no charge if they’re 15 and under and accompanied by a paid adult. They must be supervised by you at all times. \nWhat about dogs?\nAssistance dogs aside\, GROW is not for dogs. Please leave your canine colleagues at home for a well-earned day off. \nWho is paying for GROW?\nThis is a frugal festival (organised by farmer volunteers) with a modest budget but we have high hopes to gather a small surplus to use as seed funding for future GROW Festivals. We gratefully acknowledge funding from Agriculture Victoria\, through its Vic Grown program\, to supplement revenue from a modest site fee paid by commercial exhibitors and from ticket sales. The main costs of staging this festival include venue and equipment hire and the services of a handful of local trades and suppliers such as AV techs and electricians to make this a comfortable and safe event. \nWhat if I have other questions?\nPlease get in touch via the contact form on this website and we’ll answer as soon as we can.
